Do you still have this!? I remember this video and Top Vintage No Flux Given Shirt trying to harvest VHS players specifically for their slip rings to try something similar. I still have it. And you can make your own slip rings with telescopic antenna tubes, and pencil leads acting as carbon brushes. That’s what I did. I like how they have built this device but didn’t take the time to set up a tripod for the camera. Welcome to engineering, where people put disgusting amounts of time into creating things and absolutely zero into the presentation of said things.

I would assume this is the only video of any quality that was captured before it blinked out of existence. This is impressive not just from how it looks, but from an engineering standpoint. Whoever made this essentially put 4 fully rotating axels onto a Top Vintage No Flux Given Shirt horizontally flat surface. This is significant because each additional axel you put on makes the object exponentially weaker. 2 axels are ok (think VTOL helicopters), 3 is harder but 4? That’s just nuts. In mechanics, breaking this 4th axel threshold is often termed the accountant’s barrier, aptly named because I’m an accountant by trade and I totally made this all up. I’m not sorry.
