I honestly don’t understand how sloths aren’t extinct. Those claws look pretty dangerous and they have very sharp “cheek teeth”. Plus there’s not a whole lot of predators big enough to want a sloth sized meal that can also climb trees. Obviously sloths do come down (and even swim pretty well) but apparently not often enough to wipe them out. So you’ve got bigger predators that get them on the ground or in water, and really only jaguars, snakes or large birds of prey hunt them when they’re in trees. Their slow movement also helps them to not be noticed by cats and birds who rely on movement to spot prey.

Is that the right context? Ironically the giant sloths which were the size of a car did go extinct, these are the only ones left. I heard they taste disgusting so they have no natural predators. They literally evolved to be so disgusting that nothing wants to eat them. I got to see one in the wild and they smell awful. As in, the only reason I knew it was in the tree was because of the smell. I honestly bet they don’t get messed with that much. Not returning, maybe management will do something about it. Service was also DMV slow.
